The Mandarin calls our Data Inventory Guide 'excellent'

Data inventories are more than a buzzword - they are essential! We provide a guide to creating data inventories to support Australian Government agencies to discover the data they hold and maintain a data inventory on our website. You can read it here.

You can read Move over big data: Data inventories are the next big thing here in the Mandarin's 2024 Digital ID and Privacy Special Report. In it, the author asks, 'Why are data inventories and assessments ‘must-do’ activities?' and says 'the Office of the National Data Commissioner authored an excellent Guide to Developing a Data Inventory.'

Government data inventories are being used to build the Australian Government Data Catalogue, which will launch this year. The value of the catalogue is critically dependent on Australian Government entities keeping their data inventories complete and up-to-date. For help on this, you can join our webinar on 22 May and we are asking Australian Government entities to contribute their data inventory to the Catalogue. Please contact us so we can show you how.
