The Office of the National Data Commissioner commissioned an independent Privacy Impact Assessment on the Data Availability and Transparency Bill as introduced to Parliament on 9 December 2020.
Under the Data Availability and Transparency Act (DATA) scheme, if your data sharing request is accepted, you will need to enter into a data sharing agreement with the data custodian.
The data custodian is the federal government agency responsible for the data.
It is easy to conflate open access or release of data with sharing data. So why are these concepts different and why is that distinction important?
