DataPoints - National Data Commissioner Update July 2023
National Data Commissioner Gayle Milnes
With the end of the financial year, we’ve been reflecting on just how far we have come since the DATA Scheme was established in 2022 and planning for 2023-24 and beyond. July has also been a month of action for ONDC - see our pipeline!
It’s encouraging to see continued strong interest and uptake of the Scheme. As of end July, we have supported 21 Australian Government agencies to develop and improve their data inventories. More than 50 organisations have on-boarded to Dataplace. Six data users have been accredited – the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Commonwealth Department of Social Services are the most recent. You can check out the full Register of Accredited Entities on our website.

Good reads for the data community
Last week the Productivity Commission released its draft report into the Review of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap. The PC is requesting further information on a range of issues and feedback on its draft recommendations, including on data to track progress on the Agreement. Take a look.
